Folk / Rock

While I do not like to classify music (although I store my CDs in alphabetical order) I suppose that the music I listen to most, and certainly make the effort to hear live, can be called Folk / Rock or Electric Folk.

My interest in this musical genre stems from seeing Fairport Convention many times from 1968 to 1971 at Essex University.  I have to admit I stopped following Fairport when Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson left and, in my opinion at the time, Dave Swarbrick began to have an excessive influence on the band.  I began to make the effort to see them in concert after a break of about twenty years, and now I try to see them as often as I can.

This website gives an idea of the sort of CDs I buy and the artists I try to see.  Some artists are no longer with us but their music lives on.
